2. Bachelor's degree from a four-year university

Since law school is a master's degree program, the most basic entry requirement for law school is a bachelor's degree from a four-year university. Those who have already graduated from a four-year university or are expected to graduate in February 2022 from a domestic university or March from an overseas university can enter the law school.

1,049, or 49.3% of law school admissions in 2021, were expected to graduate in February 2021.

In addition, those who have obtained a bachelor's degree through self-study or through a credit bank system also meet the admission requirements. In 2019, there was a case in which an applicant who obtained a bachelor's degree through the credit bank system of the National Lifelong Education Promotion Agency was admitted to Korea University Law School, but this is a very rare case.

At Seoul National University, Yonsei University, and Korea University SKY Law School, more than 90% of admitted students are from SKY University, and most other law schools are from top-ranked universities including SKY University. A four-year bachelor's degree in any way is sufficient to simply meet the requirements for law school admission, but academic background is also important to get into a good law school with high bar exam pass rates and employment rates.

Along with academic background, undergraduate GPA is an important factor in law school admissions. In general, GPA alone must be 4.0 or higher to be in the safe zone of acceptance. There are some people who think that to enter law school, you have to go to law school, but it doesn't matter what major you take to enter law school, regardless of your major.

3. Reit grades

The second condition for admission to law school is the REIT score. REIT is a legal aptitude test that evaluates whether you have basic knowledge to become a lawyer. Just as you have to take the college scholastic ability test every year for college entrance exams, you need to take the REIT exam every year for the law school entrance exam. The REIT to meet the admission requirements for the 2022 academic year was conducted on July 25th. About 14,000 people, the largest number ever, applied for REIT applications. In 2022, the REIT standard score decreased as the average raw score increased as the test was easier than last year. In 2022, the top ranks in both language comprehension and reasoning and argumentation domains decreased and the middle ranks increased. As a result, it is expected that the competition for entrance exams at mid-ranked law schools will intensify in the 2022 law school entrance exam.

4. Certified language proficiency

The third law school admission requirement is official language proficiency, and all law schools require English proficiency such as TOEIC, TOEFL, and TEPS. Seoul National University, Yonsei University, Korea University Law School, etc., have to exceed the standard score, and English scores are not included in the score that determines successful applicants. Some law schools have no English proficiency restrictions, and some law schools that reflect English language proficiency in the score for selection of successful applicants. For specific conditions for each law school, please see the 2022 Law School Admission Guide attached below.
